Black Cinema Night: October Every first Wednesday of the month, we invite you to the Bronzeville Incubator for an evening to help us honor Black stories by showcasing and supporting local Black filmmakers. This month we'll be viewing "97" by visual artists Keisha Lagniappe and C. Marie.
Called "97" to bring awareness that 97% of rapists are never convicted, the film tells the stories of women who were sexually assaulted. Highlighting a 97 foot long art installation made up of the clothes worn by women during their assaults, it is a piece about reclaiming one's body and space.

Following the movie we'll have a discussion led by the filmmaker, C.Marie, an interdisciplinary creative whose principle work is rooted in health, wellness and community service. She is the creator of several documentaries, musical compositions and books; most notably Healing Fear and Trauma with Pranayama and Qigong. Her goal is to offer her talents for the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual benefit of others – and in turn use these special encounters to further her continuous growth.

Join Us! Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the night.
