Black Cinema Night Every month, we invite you to The Bronzeville Incubator for an evening to help us honor Black stories by showcasing and supporting local Black filmmakers. This month we will be screening The Dinner Party and LaSaundra by filmmaker Shaquille Roberts. Allie, a loving wife in The Dinner Party, takes matters into her own hands after finding out about her husband’s 6 mistresses. LaSaundra was born with complications that lead to her getting brain surgery and multiple heart surgeries when she was just a baby. Here is her story.

Shaquille Roberts is a local Chicago Filmmaker with her BFA in Digital Filmmaking & Video Production from The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago. As a writer, she has had various works published in The Chicago Tribune, as well as, TrueStar Magazine. During her studies, she assisted in the production of TV shows on WTTW-Channel 11. She has written, directed, and produced her own independent short films and commercials. Her films have been screened in film festivals and media shows across Chicago. She develops work as an independent writer, director, and producer and is currently in post-production for her short film "Let Go," set to release in March of 2020.
